How we are financed

The majority of a Council’s income is derived from an annual charge called the precept, which is part of your Council Tax collected by Ashfield District Council. Selston Parish Council’s charge is currently approximately £60.60 per annum for a band D property.

Other income of the Parish Council includes:

  • Letting fees
  • Room hire rental charges
  • Lease agreements
  • Grants and donations
  • Investment income

The Council’s current total income is approximately £275,000, which is mainly spent on the upkeep and maintenance of its various properties and facilities.
